After recovering from our experiences at the Danish American house, we set off for South Dakota. However, we had no idea how incredibly boring Minnesota is. I promptly fell asleep and was awoken a while later by the feeling of the car slowing down. I dazedly looked around and found myself in Blue Earth, Minnesota. What’s in the small town of Blue Earth that could send this road trip on a detour? I think you’ll agree with me that it was well worth it to stop.
The world’s largest statue of the Jolly Green Giant!!
Weston looks so small compared to the Jolly Green Giant!
They stole his green bean! (What’s a Westary blog post without a wildly inappropriate comment?)
I know sometimes it’s hard to justify stopping somewhere random when you have a destination and a schedule, but if you ever find yourself smack dab in the middle of Minnesota, definitely stop and visit the Jolly Green Giant! It’s worth it!
That is so rad. I love your sense of humor. This is definitely a trip to remember. Love you.
the grammar nazi called to say you were “awakened” v. to rouse from sleep; make alert or active
I still don’t understand. Is that not what I said?
Was this anywhere near the creamed corn palace?
